Black Rose Shrimp
Black Rose Shrimp is a small freshwater dwarf shrimp prized in aquariums for its deep black, rose-like coloration. It is a selectively bred color variety of the species Neocaridina davidi.
This shrimp typically grows to about 2–3 cm (around 1 inch) in length and has a slender, slightly curved body with a hard, segmented shell. Its most distinctive feature is its intense black pigmentation, which can appear glossy or velvety depending on lighting and genetics. The dark color covers most of the body, legs, and tail, making it stand out strongly against light or planted aquarium backgrounds.
Black Rose Shrimp are peaceful, active scavengers that constantly move around surfaces such as plants, rocks, and substrate while grazing on algae, biofilm, and leftover food. Because of their hardy nature and easy care requirements, they are popular among both beginner and experienced aquarium keepers.
