Blue Jelly Shrimp
Blue Jelly Shrimp is a freshwater dwarf shrimp prized in aquariums for its translucent blue body with a jelly-like appearance. It is a selectively bred color variety of the species Neocaridina davidi.
Description:
Blue Jelly Shrimp typically grow to about 2–3 cm (around 1 inch) in length and have a slender, segmented body. Their body is mostly translucent, allowing a subtle view of their internal organs, while the light to medium blue pigmentation gives them a soft, jelly-like look. The combination of transparency and blue coloration makes them appear delicate and luminous in planted aquariums.
Behavior:
They are peaceful and active scavengers, constantly grazing on algae, biofilm, and tiny food particles on plants, rocks, and substrate.
Aquarium Appeal:
Their striking blue transparency and hardy nature make Blue Jelly Shrimp an attractive and low-maintenance choice for planted tanks and freshwater aquariums.
