Green Jade Shrimp
Green Jade Shrimp is a small freshwater dwarf shrimp known for its distinctive green coloration. It is a selectively bred variety of the species Neocaridina davidi and is popular in aquarium keeping.
This shrimp typically grows to about 2–3 cm (around 1 inch) in length and has a slender body covered by a smooth, segmented shell. Its most notable feature is its jade-green to dark moss-green color, which can range from slightly translucent green to a deeper, more solid shade depending on genetics and environment.
Green Jade Shrimp are peaceful and active scavengers, often seen grazing on algae, biofilm, and tiny food particles on plants, rocks, and aquarium surfaces. Their unique green appearance and hardy nature make them a striking and useful addition to freshwater aquariums, especially planted tanks where their color contrasts beautifully with surrounding vegetation.
