Yellow Golden Back Shrimp
Yellow Golden Back Shrimp is a bright yellow freshwater dwarf shrimp popular in aquariums for its solid yellow body and distinctive golden stripe along its back. It is a selectively bred variety of the species Neocaridina davidi.
This shrimp usually grows to about 2–3 cm (around 1 inch) in length and has a slender body covered by a smooth, segmented shell. Its most recognizable feature is the bright yellow coloration combined with a shiny golden stripe running along the top of its back, often called the “golden back” or “racing stripe.” This stripe can appear metallic under aquarium lighting.
Yellow Golden Back Shrimp are peaceful and active scavengers that spend much of their time grazing on algae, biofilm, and leftover food on plants, rocks, and substrate. Their vivid color and hardy nature make them a popular and eye-catching addition to freshwater planted aquariums.
